A PHP/MySQL application, hosted on a single server, that centralizes the catalog, users, tax settings, consolidated reports and the management dashboard for the whole store network.
A native C++/Qt6 application for computers and dedicated in-store terminals: tables, order taking, payment, cash register and local management.
A native C++/Qt6 application, packaged as a .deb for Ubuntu/Debian — the same business logic as the Windows terminal, for computers and dedicated in-store terminals.
A QML application, sharing the same business logic as the Windows and Linux terminals, for tablets and smartphones — screens adapted for touch operation at the counter or on the floor.
Each store keeps its own local database (SQLite): sales, invoicing and printing keep working even if the internet connection drops. Periodically, or on demand, each terminal syncs with the central server — sending sales made locally and receiving updates to the catalog, prices, users and settings. This makes it possible to manage several stores, potentially in different countries, from a single central installation, without any store's daily operation depending on the server being available.
From the sales floor to day-to-day management, built for multiple stores
Table map by zone, order taking with fractional quantities and automatic routing to production, several payment methods, full tax invoicing (invoice, simplified invoice, invoice-receipt, credit note) and cash register management with counting and per-operator closing.
Catalog shared across stores by families and units of measure, technical sheets (recipes) with automatic component stock deduction, per-warehouse stock with transfers and inventories, and purchasing/supplier management.
Country-specific tax modules — each store can have its own module and currency. For Portugal, includes chained digital signing, ATCUD, standardized QR code and a webservice connection to the Tax Authority.
Roles with a granular permission matrix, applied consistently across the central panel and both terminals. Interface available in Portuguese, English and Dutch, per user.
Central dashboard with daily sales, average ticket and weekly/monthly/yearly trends, broken down by currency. Each terminal also has native reports that work offline.
Receipt and order printing over network, serial, Bluetooth and USB with dedicated printers per production section, checkout and section scales, fingerprint reading as an alternative to password login, and on-screen keyboards optimized for touch terminals.
Automatic and manual backups per store, controlled store reset with a mandatory prior backup, history restore for a reinstalled store, and tax numbering validation on sync.
A single central installation can manage physically separate stores, in different countries, with a shared catalog and consolidated sales history — the dashboard always groups figures correctly by currency.

StartMedia POS is under active development. The Mozambique module is already in real use at a demo store, and the Portugal module is functional, awaiting certification from the Tax Authority to issue fiscally valid documents. The Ireland and Netherlands modules are under development.
